Grey to dark sooty cap with radial streaks; gills pale yellowish; firm white flesh; mild to nutty taste.
Mainly with conifers, especially pines, in sandy soils.
Can be confused with toxic grey Tricholoma species (e.g. T. virgatum or T. pardinum).
